FIRST EMinS CORPORATE CONFERENCE LINKED BUSINESS AND ACADEMIC COMMUNITY, GOVERNMENT AND NGOs

European Movement in Serbia organized a corporate conference "Education in Serbia - Jobs for the Future", attended by directors of leading companies operating in our country, representatives of governmental and non-governmental sectors, chambers of commerce, diplomatic and academic community. The main theme of the firsth in the series of planned corporate conferencies, which gathered nearly 200 hundred people in Belgrades “Aeroclub” on April 12th,, were current changes in education sector in Serbia, with a special focus on harmonizing the secondary and higher education system with the needs of the labour market and companies operating in Serbia.

THE NATIONAL CONVENTION ON THE EUROPEAN UNION ORGANIZED A MEETING WITHIN INTERNAL DIALOGUE ON KOSOVO

The National Convention on the European Union organized a meeting within Internal Dialogue on Kosovo titled "The solution of the Kosovo Issue - a Chance or Threat to the European perspective of Serbia" in the Palace of Serbia.President of Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić and Jadranka Joksimović, Minister for European Integration, both attended the meeting, as well as representatives of governmental bodies and around 40 representatives of civil society organizations, members of the National Convention on the European Union (NCEU).

CITIZENS POORLY INFORMED ON THEIR RIGHTS

Almost half of citizens (49%) in Serbia don’t know who to address in cases of patients’ rights violation. Furthermore, more than half admits to be poorly informed about patients' rights.

The results of the focus groups held in Niš and Belgrade show that citizens feel that they are not timely informed on newly introduced changes within health care system. For example, replacement procedure of new health insurance cards has created many difficulties due to lack of information about the deadlines. Furthermore, almost 60% of citizens haven’t heard about the possibilities get private healthcare services and refund their costs in cases when public institution cannot provide services within 30 days. 

MENTORING WALK IN SUBOTICA MARKED INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

More than 80 citizens walked in the central streets of Subotica, pointing out the problems that women face in the implementation of their constitutional rights and against violence that they are exposed to. The Mentoring Walk is organised by "Share Your Knowledge" program and Women’s Leadership Academy on the occasion of International Women`s Day.

MEN AND WOMEN – UNITED FOR EQUALITY!

The Traditional Mentoring Walk which is organized jointly by Share Your Knowledge and Academy of Woman Leadership program in Serbia this year, was held in Subotica on March 10, 2018 and aimed to highlight the need to improve visibility of women in public life and in the decision-making process, but also to show women solidarity and promotion of mentoring. The Mentor Walk in Subotica was part of the global Mentor Walk Initiative coordinated by Vital Voices and one of 150 walking in 60 countries. The Walk in Subotica was held as the 14 walk in Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Kraljevo i Valjevo).


After the Walk, a debate on the topic: Woman in Politics – from Figures to Influence, was organized, where Gordana Čomić, MP, and Aida Ćorović, Politician, shared their long-term experience in political area with the participants.

 
THE EIGHT BELGRADE SECURITY FORUM IN OCTOBER ON THE NEW NORMALITY

The Balkans is at a turning point in 2018 - the new EU Enlargement Strategy has created a sense of urgency among regional leaders, primarily reflected in need to find solutions for old disputes. This year, from October 17 to 19, the Belgrade Security Forum will deal with the question - where are we in this state of "new normal"? Where do we go? How do we make progress for everyone in an unpredictable future?

How does the path to success look like and how should we overcome the obstacles on that path? The answers to those questions lie within ourselves, but the road that leads to them is often tiring and stressful and we give up easily. That is why on February 24, at the first workshop of the project “Share Your Knowledge“, psychodrama therapists Karolina Voros and Jelena Milic Jerkovic guided the participants of the project through the path of finding answers to these questions within themselves. 

The assistance of Milana Milosevic, a software engineer and PhD student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, was just as important. She gave some instructions and tricks on time management and on how to succeed in achieving perhaps the most important goal of all and that is spending our time and energy on all the things we want to have in our life.
INTER - NEW NATIONAL CONVENTION ON THE EU WORK GROUP COORDINATOR FOR CHAPTER 35

New Coordinator of the Working Group of the National Convention on the European Union in charge for the Chapter 35 - Other Issues - Kosovo was elected at the meeting held in the premises of the European Movement in Serbia. New Work Group Coordinator is the Institute for Territorial Economic Development InTER, represented by Mr. Dragiša Mijačić.

MENTORS READY TO SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE!

Selected Mentors on the Program "Share your knowledge " on Saturday, February 3, prepared for their ten months works with mentees and active participation in the program. The aim of the meeting was to present the activities on the program and that mentors can get familiar with the concept of the program, as well as with the most important segments of mentoring work. The meeting was a good opportunity for mentors to get to know each other.

On behalf of partner organizations that are organizing the program, a new generation of mentees welcomed Svetlana Stefanović, Program Manager of the European Movement in Serbia and Vukica Stanković, US Embassy in Serbia.

THE EIGHT GENERATION OF THE MENTEES STARTED WITH WORK

The Eight Generation of Mentees on the Pogram "Share your knowledge" on Saturday, January 27 started with a preparatory meeting their ten months works. The aim of the meeting was to present the activities of the program and that the participants can learn about the concept of mentoring. The meeting was an opportunity for mentees to know each other, and to set their own goals and hear the impressions and experiences from the program alumnas. 

On behalf of partner organizations that are organizing the program, a new generation of mentees welcomed Svetlana Stefanović, Program Manager of the European Movement in Serbia, Vukica Stanković, US Embassy in Serbia, Tijana Banović, from Erste Bank and Dragana Ivetić Radić from the OSCE Mission in Serbia.
