Evaluation meeting of the participants on the program "Share your knowledge - Become a Mentor 2013/2014" under the title "What have we learned and how we move on?" was held on Saturday, July 26, 2014. in Vrdnik (Fenix Center).

The meeting was composed of two parts: the first part was focused on the evaluation of the program through lessons learned and advices for the next generation, as well as networking. The second part was devoted to a discussion on "Misogyny in Serbia - how to recognize"

In the friendly atmosphere in nature, mentees and mentors had the opportunity to look back on all they have learned during the program and through interactive way to share their experiences, what was program meant to them and what they have recently learned.

Throughout the Workshop Fair of knowledge and skills, mentors and mentees have creatively tried to perceive and to remind the potential that already exists in the group. This was the opportunity to consider how to further continue the work within the framework of alumni group.

In the second part of the day, with Marina Blagojević Hughson, participants had the opportunity to discuss about misogyny in Serbia today, and how to recognize and to jointly identify and point out the misogyny that are recognized in their environment.
The meeting was a good opportunity to look back together on what they have done, and what is yet to do so.

From February to July 2014., every last Saturday of the month, round tables and/or workshops were organized for all participants in the program, and the topics of these events were defined in accordance with the interests of program participants. In this period folowing events were held:

  • three roundtables on topics: Youth social activism in Serbia, Women and Entrepreneurship and Women in World War I;
  • two workshops: Public speaking and project management and
  • two public debates: Women's Rights and Gender Equality in Novi Sad and Women in Culture and Art in Čačak

The final event is the Mentoring walk which is traditionally organized in mid-November, when the mentor and mentees will receive certificates for participation in the Program.

The program aims to bring together professional women leaders from different professions to share their knowledge and experiences with young women starting their careers with similar interests and desire to be successful in their fields. This will contribute to creating opportunities for these women to advance their career path with the intention of achieving a positive step and set a healthy basis for future long-term cooperation. Mentoring model is widely promoted at the international level and very successfully implemented in several countries. Considering our environment and social conditions, the model has been slightly adapted to the target group in Serbia.

*The "Share Your Knowledge - Become a Mentor 2013/2014" program is organized for the fourth year in a row by European Movement in Serbia with the cooperation and support of the Embassy of the United States and Erste Bank and Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE ). The goal of this program is the economic and professional empowerment of women in Serbian society through exchange of experiences and knowledge between professional women leaders from different professions (business, public and civil sector) and younger women with similar interests and a desire to be successful in their fields. This will help create opportunities for these women to improve their career path in order to achieve positive change and to set a sound basis for future long-term cooperation.
