ONLINE PROFILES ARE BECOMING AN IMPORTANT PART OF PUBLIC APPEARANCE

On Saturday 4th of June 2016., as a part of the program Share your knowledge become a mentor, the third workshop about the communications and public appearance was held. Workshop was managed by Ms. Jelena Vasilev from the communication sector and Ms. Andrea Brbaklić, director of the sector of communications and human resources in Erste bank.


Jelena Vasilev was talking about the field of digital communications and importance of the credibility of the information that are posted in the social networks. Jelena emphasized that in today’s digital world everything becomes public and available to everybody, so because of that every word needs to be contrived before it has been put online. She has briefly talked about all the social networks that are used the most in Serbia (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and LinkedIn). She has shared important advices on how to manage profiles on these social networks. Also, she emphasized that we pick the information which we want to share and said that it is very difficult to divide private and corporate when using social networks profiles, and added that it is important to regular update profiles, like LinkedIn for example.


Andrea Brbaklić has talked about public speech, focusing on the different aspects that are important in order to make the exposure and performance even better. She stated that the body language is important, and that it is a strong element with which we communicate unwittingly. She talked about the importance of knowledge of the group with which we communicate and she has also emphasized the importance of have a plan about the goal of our speech. The mistakes we make are the best lessons for improvement. 


On the workshop the main attention was given to practicing the public speech, by giving short statements on different topics. Participant have tried to give a statement in front of the camera, and afterwards they discussed the about the good and the bad aspects of their public speech. The workshop was a really good chance for young women to improve their already existing knowledge and learn something new about public speech and digital communications.
