SATISFIED INDIVIDUAL, SATISFIED TEAM

21.03.2016

Within the Programme "Share Your Knowledge - Become a Mentor", on Saturday March 19 2016, the second workshop on the role and importance of the individual in team and importance of balancing work and private life was held. The workshop was led by Mirjana Gomilanović, Mentor on the Program, coach, manager and owner of the One2grow agency.

On very interesting and ineractive way Mirjana has brought closer to participants the importance of the role of each individual in the team. The point is that we are all different and we are functioning differently, and for that reason each player in the Team has its own role. There are four types of people in teams, and it’s essential that, in interaction with each of these types, find out with "whom we are talking to" and to try, throught conversation, to be like that person. At the level of behavior we can show that we are “on the same path” with that person, which is essential for the effective functioning of team. Also, there is no such a thing as bad type of person in team, everyone has their own role. Typification of members of the team is done according on questions on which they are more directed: „why“ we are doing some tasks, „what is happing" when we finish that task, "how" we work on that and "who else" work with on that task. If it comes to  problems in the communication, there is a need for changing a type of communication in way that members better understand each other and develop empathy. „Team spirit means set of actions. When we are creating team, it is important to taking in to the account every person in that team.“ Mirjana stressed out.

In the secong part of workshop mentees and mentors have found out more about how to better integrate private and professional life. Mirjana has, through numerous of personal examples explained that time is category which is not worth discussing it because everyone feel it in a relative term. Mirjana asked a simple question: "If an extra hour a day is given to you, what would you do with it?" Time is the most expensive resource, because of that by saying "I do not have time for ..." actually means "I do not care if ...” On the level of behavior we can see what is important for us. In order to better balance private and professional aspects in our lifes, there is a need to look all our roles that we are playing during the day. Every decision that we are make is always best for us, but every has an impact on our surrounding and ours other identities. Mirjana advised to always take APR principle (absolute personal responsibility) in account and that our decisions should be based on SMART analysis (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-limited target) to which it should be added environmental factors, positive attitudes and us.To borow some of ours identites is skill of organising ourselves, which is caused by our abilities and strategies.

After a very interactive discussion with the participants, Mirjana concluded that false attempting to put balance creates even more pressure. „The right balance between work and private life you will achieve when you are giving the best of yourself in that moment.“
