Traditional Mentoring Walk was organized on November 4 in Belgrade in order to raise awareness about women solidarity and the importance of mentoring for empowerment of women in Serbia. More than seventy mentors and mentees "Share Your Knowledge", young women, future leaders, successful women in the field of business, public life, culture and the non-governmental sector have gathered to walk the central streets of the Serbian capital.

Opportunity was used to announce the new cycle of the program "Share Your Knowledge", which enables young women to gain new knowledge and skills working with women mentors who are experts and leaders in different professions. During past seven years there has been 170 mentors, including Brankica Janković, Mirjana Karanović, Ana Sofrenović, Aja Jung, Nevena Petrušić, Sonja Liht, Sonja Stojanović Gajić, Milena Dragičević Šešić, Tanja Miščević, Gordana Čomić, Andrea Brbaklić.

Certificate award ceremony for successful participation in the Program was organized in Cultural Centre “Grad” after the Mentoring Walk. A short program followed where mentors and mentees shared their thoughts on importance of mentoring for professional and personal development, as well as how much they personally gained through the program "Share Your Knowledge". Gathering featured the performance of participants of "The Rock Camp for Girls".

"Supporting the development of successful women and strengthening their position and economic independence is essential in a society that seeks a place in the European community. One of the mechanisms of support that provides excellent results and requires little investment is mentoring. The program and the concept are based on volunteerism and enthusiasm of mentors and mentees, and their commitment is crucial for success," said Svetlana Stefanovic, Program Manager from the European Movement in Serbia.

Call for new generation of participants is in progress for all women who want and need mentoring support of successful colleagues. All interested can apply by the end of November, and all the details can be found at the Program webpage. Program gives special support to women entrepreneurs in agriculture and Roma women.

The first Mentoring Walk in Serbia, was organized in 2008 in Belgrade and since then 14 Walks were held in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Kraljevo and Valjevo, with more than 600 participants.

Program for empowering women "Share Your Knowledge" is organized and supported by the European Movement in Serbia, Embassy of United States of America, OSCE Mission in Serbia and Erste Bank.
