MENTORING WALK IN SUBOTICA MARKED INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

More than 80 citizens walked in the central streets of Subotica, pointing out the problems that women face in the implementation of their constitutional rights and against violence that they are exposed to. The Mentoring Walk is organised by "Share Your Knowledge" program and Women’s Leadership Academy on the occasion of International Women`s Day.

The Forum for International Relations strongly condemns the attacks and threats sent to Dragan Janjić, the editor of the BETA News Agency, through social networks after he and other public figure spoke about murder of Oliver Ivanović, the prominent Kosovo politician, during the media address of President Aleksandar Vučić.

Dragan Janjić is a prominent journalist who is entitled to his opinion and we consider that in this case his mention was completely inappropriate.

 
SUZANA GRUBJEŠIĆ ELECTED THE NEW SECRETARY GENERAL

At the regular Annual Assembly of the European Movement in Serbia (EMinS), a new leadership of the organization was elected. Professor Mr. Mihailo Crnobrnja was entrusted with the second term in the position of the President, while Mr. Duško Lopandić was elected Deputy President.

National Convention on the European Union (NKEU) and the representatives of the academia and the civil society urge the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia to withdraw the draft Bylaw on scientific and other research relevant for national defense and on the procedure and conditions for issuing permits for carrying out such research together with foreign entities or contracted by foreign entities.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTORING AND WOMEN SOLIDARITY FOR DEVELOPING EUROPEAN SOCIETY

Traditional Mentoring Walk was organized on November 5 and it was used to announce a new cycle of the program "Share Your Knowledge- Become a Mentor". Mentors, mentees and their guests walk on Belgrade streets with a goal to put the spotlight on women solidarity and importance of mentoring for women empowerment in Serbia. Throughout the Program, Share Your Knowledge - Become a Mentor, young women that are at the beginning of their carriers get the opportunity to learn new things from mentors, leaders from different professions. All young leaders that are interested to develop their skills with mentors support can apply for the new cycle of the Program by the end of the month.

WESTERN BALKAN CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS JOINTLY ADVOCATING ACCESSION TO THE EU

A Western Balkan 6 (WB6) Advocacy Group was established at a meeting hosted by the European Movement in Serbia, in Belgrade, on 29 September 2016. CSOs from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia have initiated the forming of this group to facilitate and accelerate the accession of the entire region to the European Union.
