INVESTING IN THE WESTERN BALKANS’ EUROPEAN FUTURE

The purpose of the conference is to provide regional stakeholders with an opportunity to learn more about the role, direct benefit and transformative power of the EIB in European integration process. The way forward in bridging obstacles in this process will be also presented and debated through three special panels: reforms, infrastructure and environment and sustainable development.

CHANGING THE CONSTITUTION ON THE WAY TO THE EUROPEAN UNION

EMinS intends to intensify the debate on the Constitutional reform in the context of EU accession negotiations process. Debate would encompass expert community, decision makers, and CSOs, where policy analysis made by EMinS will be tested against experts’ point of view on the subject in the first step. Various issues, aspects and possible solutions will be researched and used in this focused public debate. This first step would lead to presentation of the analyzed impact to policy and decision makers and proposing amendments to the Constitution itself.

TRAVEL TO EUROPE 2017

The basic idea of the “Travel to Europe” project was to enable the best students, enrolled in the final years of their studies from all universities in Serbia, to obtain inter-rail tickets and an allowance, to create their own itinerary and spend their summer holiday, between two academic years, travelling around Europe.

SCHOOL OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION 2017

In order to involve local political and social actors in the north of Kosovo* in the process of european integration in a meaningful and high-quality way, and improve their understanding and implementation of the reforms, Kosovo Foundation for Open Society and European Movement in Serbia in cooperation with the NGO ACTIVE, launched the School of European Integration in the north of Kosovo*. The School is intended for the officials from public bodies and local government institutions, representatives of civil society organizations, media and the business sector, as well as students in northern Kosovo*.

NETWORKING TOWARDS EMPOWERMENT

Connectivity, collaboration, involvement and networking at all levels and thus of all interested parties, in today’s interconnected world, are the prerequisites for growth and success for all legal entities and enterprises, most prominently for those that have the fulfilment of a social aim in their description. The recognition of common interests is a precondition and the only way for the cooperation to be useful and enabling in strengthening the influence of these enterprises in society. Due to this, the European Movement in Serbia is forming a working group to create the guidelines to enhance the cooperation and networking between actors in the sector of social entrepreneurship in Serbia.

EUROPEAN TALKS

The natural cooperation between the European Movement in Serbia and the EU Info Center in Belgrade began in 2016, and continued in 2017 as a cycle of joint public events "European Talks". Debates are designed to point out the neglected aspects of European integration, which, however, have a direct impact on the lives of citizens, the economy, and reform processes in Serbia.

I HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT THE EU

Activities of the project "I Have a Right to Know about the EU" aim to initiate discussion with youth in Serbia and general public about the process of EU integration, current position of Serbia, European values and standards as well as other substantial issues stemming from the alignment in different negotiation chapters.

V4 - Backing the Advocacy Strategy for the European Integration of the Western Balkans

The project aim is to develop the advocacy strategy for the Western Balkan countries, which would facilitate the EU enlargement towards this region and make it faster and more efficient. With support of the Visegrad Group’s (V4) think tanks, partners from the Western Balkans will develop an advocacy strategy with practical guidelines for national administrations and civil society organizations (CSO) in order to increase their advocacy capacity and highlight arguments for faster accession to the EU, better cope with the EU "enlargement fatigue" and contribute to developing a positive perception of the region in the Brussels institutions, EU member countries and wider public in the eight countries involved (V4: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, but also WB: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia). 

MORE COMMUNITY IN A BUSINESS

The success of the regional conference "Business for the Benefit of the Community", the interest of the media and the public, which greatly exceeded expectations, confirmed once again the need for more innovative, more equitable and more sustainable business. The obsticles for stronger development of the sector is possible through raising public awareness on the possibilities and potential of such economic model. Project More Community in a Business, with the support of The Heinrich Böll Foundation, is part of this effort and answer to the identified need to put our experience, knowledge and skills in the service of those who need it most: social entrepreneurs, both those who are more or less consciously engaged in activities falling into this domains, and those whose ideas could easily be converted into entrepreneurial activities with social character and impact.
